Jan-Willem van den Beukel
Jan-Willem van den Beukel is Director of the Association for Energy for Mobility and Industry (VEMOBIN), the industry association for energy companies in the Netherlands. He has more than twenty years of experience at the intersection of energy, sustainability, industry, policy and public administration.
He studied public administration and forestry and lives close to Rotterdam. During his career, he has worked as chief of staff and strategic adviser on sustainability and the energy transition in the House of Representatives, as senior manager at PwC Sustainability and as an alderman responsible for amongst others energy transition. These roles have given him broad experience in energy issues, climate policy, the circular economy, industrial transition and public decision-making.
At VEMOBIN, he represents companies active in refining, fuels and renewable energy. His work focuses on connecting competitiveness and sustainability, building societal coalitions and translating complex energy and industrial challenges into strategic proposals for policymakers.
