
Jan-Maarten Geertman
Jan-Maarten Geertman is a technical executive with over 20 years of global experience in R&D, bioprocess innovation, and industrial sustainability. At HEINEKEN, he leads initiatives in decarbonization, energy efficiency and water stewardship, supporting the company's EverGreen2030 ambitions.
With a PhD in fermentation and metabolic engineering from TU Delft, Jan-Maarten has held hey roles in the Netherlands, UK, and Canada, spanning research, supply chain, and open innovation. He is known for building high-performing teams and driving large-scale transformation in the FMCG sector.
He serves as a chairman of the Biotechnology Academy Delft and is a frequent speaker at conferences. Named TU Delft Alumnus of the Year in 2022, he is recognized for his contributions in sustainability and innovation. Under his leadership, HEINEKEN received multiple World Sustainability Awards, including for carbon reduction and external collaboration, highlighting his impact on climate-neutral operations and industry transformation.
