Berte Simons

Berte Simons has been director of Infrastructure & Maritime Affairs (COO) of the Port of Rotterdam Authority since 1 January 2025. Under her managerial responsibility are departments responsible for the expansion and maintenance of the port and industrial complex and the Harbour Master division. Maritime officer Berte Simons worked at Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN) as director of the CO2 Storage and Transport Systems business unit until the end of 2024.

She started her career in 2003 as a policy officer at North Sea Port, where she worked until 2006. From 2006 to 2021, she held various international management positions at consultancy and engineering firm Royal HaskoningDHV, where she managed major projects in mining, heavy industry, aviation and the maritime sector.
