Alessandro Provaggi is a senior executive with more than 18 years of experience—over 12 in leadership roles—driving strategy, business growth, innovation, EU funding, policy engagement, and industrial partnerships across the energy and sustainability sectors.

Since 2021, he has headed the Brussels office of Zabala Innovation, a leading European consultancy specialized in innovation and R&D financing. He leads a multidisciplinary team of around 30 professionals and oversees a broad portfolio of strategic clients and initiatives, with a particular focus on energy, industrial transformation, and sustainability.

From 2015 to 2021, he led the DHC+ Platform at Euroheat & Power, where he played a central role in expanding the membership base, strengthening the EU project portfolio, and positioning the platform as a leading European hub for innovation and knowledge exchange in district heating and cooling.

Earlier in his career, Alessandro worked at EUREC as Coordinator of the European Technology Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling. He also held roles at the European Commission and the European Parliament, focusing on energy, infrastructure, environmental, and food-related initiatives, and contributed to working-group negotiations linked to the G20 and other high-level policy forums.

Alessandro holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and International Relations from the University of Bologna and completed an accelerated management programme at the Solvay Brussels School. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Global Project Center at Stanford University, where he conducted research on innovative financing mechanisms for energy projects. He is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Italian, and has working knowledge of Dutch.
