Albert Kassies is Director New Energy at Tata Steel Nederland, where he leads the energy transition of the company’s Green Steel Program. In this role, he is responsible for securing large‑scale supplies of low‑carbon energy, including natural gas, electricity, biomethane hydrogen, and carbon capture solutions, and for developing the infrastructure and partnerships required to enable deep industrial decarbonization. Albert works closely with national and regional stakeholders, infrastructure operators, industry associations, and government bodies to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of the Dutch basic industry.

Previously, Albert held senior leadership positions across manufacturing, transformation, and operational excellence within Tata Steel in the Netherlands and the UK. He has led large industrial organizations, complex transformation programs, and multi‑billion‑euro improvement initiatives, combining operational excellence with digital innovation.

Albert brings over 25 years of executive experience in heavy industry, with deep expertise in energy strategy, large‑scale manufacturing, and change leadership.
